Welcome | Work/Play | News | Blog

Hello. My name is Uroš Krčadinac. I work and do research on the edge between art and technology.
Currently, I am a Research Assistant at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, where I work on creative software and generative art within the interdisciplinary Metacreation Lab. I'm also an Associated Research Member of the GOOD OLD AI Research Network. I have graduated in the field of Information Technologies and Software Engineering at the University of Belgrade with First Class Honors (Best Student of the Faculty Award). My latest project is Synesketch, Web's first free open-source textual emotion recognition and visualization engine. It was reviewed by the Creative Review, appreciated by many, and awarded by the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.
Concurently, I make animated films. I’m the full author – writer, director, animator, designer, and editor – of the several award-winning shorts, screened at festivals in France, Germany, USA, Hungary, Bosnia, Russia, Greece, Spain, Finland, and Serbia. Most notable ones are The Tale of a Town and Self-Portrait. I also write, draw, and travel. As a member of the Serbia Travel Club, I have co-written one book and two multimedial travelblogs about Africa and Middle East and Siberia and Mongolia. I also play Razbi, make GPS drawings, and love the concept of recursion.
I currently live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I was born in Pančevo, Vojvodina, Serbia, Yugoslavia, in 1984.
